DESCRIPTION: Calling All Wizards! THESE ARE DARK TIMES. It is in these times that we need magic more than ever to bring out MORE LIGHT in our world. And that's where we need you! In this week long camp, Young Wizards will use a series of SECRET zoom meetings, SECRET instructional videos and SUPER SECRET meet-ups (that include a disguise) to create the magic we need most in these trying times. Professor Pandora Whoopie Pie Biscuit leads this "army of light" with Assistant Professor Vivian Vee Vanderlow. Content is also geared to empower young people to manage their own anxiety in these times of great uncertainty.
8 to 12 (if older wizards have a younger sibling that they can assist they are welcome.)
What can my Young Wizard Expect?
Daily 45-minute live Zoom meetings that include magic rituals of the day and more.
Physical "Broom" Calisthenics during Zoom meetings.
Pre-recorded instructional videos for daily craft projects and magical spell making to create THE MAGIC OF LIGHT.
A series of meet-ups (2 or 3) for Wizards to find a clue, gift, or their next assignment. Meet-ups will follow CDC standards. Socially distanced, outside, and one at a time...think of it more as a drop off or pick up...but in silly costumes. You don't have to participate if you don't feel comfortable, but we think it's important to have a fun physical aspect of camp as well.
Expect 2-to-3 hour daily commitment which includes DIY magic making with pre-recorded guidance.
Monday - Friday
July 20 - July 24
Zoom meeting will be between 10am-12pm. (Zoom meetings will be limited to 20 wizards. If we have a large sign up, we will have zoom time slots for each group of 20. For example: Group 1: 10-10:45am, Group 2: 11-11:45am)
What will my Young Wizard need?
A big imagination! This is the most important thing of all.
A computer with a video camera or an ipad with access to Zoom.
Access to our Super Secret Whoopie Pie's Army Facebook page. Here you'll find recorded video messages and instructions for projects. This is also a place for wizards to post messages and photos. (You'll have access to this once you register.)
Crafting supplies: paper, cardboard, tape and glue, paint or markers, as well as any materials the wizard wishes to use to create costuming. All magic making will be from using FOUND items. No need to purchase anything special. THAT'S PART OF THE MAGIC!
Sign/fill out the new online waiver form which includes language explaining our digital environment and our responsibilities.
Registration Fees include:
Personalized Wizard Welcome Letter
Access to Magical activities
Various Magical trinkets used throughout the week.

Good Medicine Productions: GMP's mission is to bring transformational joy to humans of all ages through the art of improvisation, comedic performance and innovative storytelling. Good Medicine's signature program brings comedic performers bedside to help elderly in nursing homes and hospitalized children find their joy.
In April of 2020, due to the Corona Virus GMP transformed its programming to a new platform while medical facilities closed to outside visitors. At that time GMP launched Senior Living Virtual Visits to help elderly in nursing homes find their joy with the Good Medicine Specialists through a zoom visit. GMP is working to launch a similar program at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Sept. of 2020. Once Good Medicine returns to the hospital the organization will have the ability to serve even more hospitalized children in this way.
GMP is excited to to explore the virtual possibilities of helping others find their joy during these trying times. Any profits made from camp go directly to our Virtual Visits with elderly and hospitalized children.
